NOW: An Improvisation Project 2010
Project description
NOW: An Improvsation Project fuses Jordana Maisie and Adam Linder's two artistic disciplines together, New Media Art & Dance, to create improvisation performances that immerse the audience in a 20 minute Audio-Visual Dance Experience.
Music, projected imagery and dance are interwoven to create a spatially aware environment that surrounds the whole audience. Either lying down or standing up the audience directly inhabits the action. Jordana films the dancer/s live whilst simultaneously filtering the footage through her original software patches which manipulate, fragment and effect the footage in real time. What is created is a complex visual transformation of what is happening at that present moment. This immediate processing and projection of the video content creates an impacting multi-dimensional performance, one that intoxicates through submergence.
