Project description

This sculptural installation explores the inevitable synthesis of natural and man-made technologies in creating an outcome that is often contradictory to the individual component's original use or purpose. Here we see a branch of a tree that has had a number holes drilled into it and then packed with gun powder. Fuses have then been run from the powder points away from the branch. Lying at the ends of each fuse is an individual match box.

Here, this symbol of the natural has become a weapon. With potentially explosive impact.
