I Miss You Part Two 2005

Project description

This is Part Two - the sculptural component of the dual projection piece I Miss You. Each perspex box is 100cm x 100cm x 10cm. The left contains one sheep's worth of uncleaned wool and the right contains my full head of clean hair.

This component of the work questions the shift in value and meaning of hair that is no longer attached to the body. The perspex encasing of both the hair and wool implies they are both items of value, items that need to be preserved, remembered.

The juxtaposition of the two boxes questions whether the removal was an act of force, trauma or free will.
