Project description

The Inhabitant is a demonstration against the ‘non-space’ that is usually promoted by online and mobile technology. This is a space in which our physical beings are left behind. This installation uses interactive technology to 'trace' a space. As the participant moves in the space the velocity of his movement and position of his body in the space manipulate the speed and volume of the sound scape. The visual projection is created from live feed video running through interactive software and is also manipulated by movement. The more the participant moves and interacts with the space, the brighter and more vibrant his counterpart / ghost – the moving image – becomes.
