Project description
This diptych is from a studio session during my studies at the Glasgow School of Art (GSA) in Scotland. At this early point in my practice, photographic portraits were almost all I shot. I was intrigued by the notion that the camera could look into the soul of the sitter and pull out their essence. This idea seemed ridiculous to me when I considered the number of variables that play into any one moment. Nevertheless, I had fun playing around in studio and shooting different people I met.
Her name is Ruth.
