Service & Supply was designed for neo-luxury brand FEIT’s first West Coast store. Located at 406 Jackson Street, San Francisco, CA.

For Service & Supply, JMDS took inspiration from the elements of traditional shoe stores; boxes stacked tall and rolling ladders that roam the aisles. The design honors this history and tradition with a focus on a contemporary product and packaging. The design combines stock, display of 40+ footwear styles, ample seating, and the capacity for small leather goods and clothing into an integrated whole.

In keeping with the interior aesthetic established by JMDS for FEIT’s New York City stores, Service & Supply features a streamlined material palette of Baltic Birch plywood, stainless steel, and immersive mirrored surfaces. These mirrored surfaces remove the sense of a solid boundary to create an expansive space.

To create separation between programs (seating, storage, service. etc.), all interior partitions were demolished and the ceilings and existing electrical were replaced. The original flooring was removed to reveal a concrete subfloor which was ground back and sealed with a semi-gloss finish.

The major move is a 40′ long display table with integrated seating. The intention here was to create shared space between product and customer.
